“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
— Viktor E Frankl

Are you here after scrolling through many profiles and websites? This is important work in finding a therapist that you can connect with. A therapist that gets you. Perhaps you’re looking for someone to support you in feeling safe & empowered. Maybe you have experienced trauma or loss and you want want to learn how you can heal. Trauma is an event that overwhelms the nervous system. Most of us have been through trauma at some point in our lives. Trauma can leave us with one foot in the past while at the same time we are trying to predict and control the future. You feel activated or disconnected. You recognize some of the sore spots and wounds. It’s exhausting. Traumatized people experience anxiety, numbing, disassociation and rage. It becomes difficult to form trusting relationships and to connect deeply with others. Trauma robs us of the ability to feel safe in our own bodies. It makes it challenging to focus, to concentrate, to form new memories and recall old ones. This can be frustrating and feel hopeless. I see you and I hear you. There is hope and there is healing. I’d love to connect with you and explore together what would support you on your healing journey.

Collaborative Approach

With warmth and compassion, I guide clients in cultivating a sense of safety and resilience, nurturing healthy attachment along the way. My approach is soft and relatable. Embracing the mind-body connection, I offer a holistic and integrative approach to therapy, both virtually and in person. I am not the therapist that will confront or challenge. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership and I offer respect & unconditional positive regard. My clients share that I am relatable and say that makes it easier for them to feel safe in being authentic & vulnerable. I try to cultivate a warm and welcoming space in my office and in telehealth sessions. You may see my 2 fur babies appear on screen with me as they love people, electronics and books. Speaking of books, I value being a lifetime student and I’m consistently learning new tools and techniques to share with my clients. I love neuroscience and if you love it too, I’m delighted to talk neurobiology, vagus nerve and nervous system. It’s also my joy to skip the talk and move straight into the practice.

Hi, I‘m Michelle Mobley MSW, LCSW, LICSW (she/her). I believe in the uniqueness of each human and their experience. I offer a safe space for folks to show up authentically and tell their story. Stories are important to us as they help us make meaning of the world and our place in it. If you’re not satisfied with the way that your story is being written, let’s explore ways to change the narrative.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
